Summary: Sweet patio set!
Comment: Love the patio set! Solid and easy to assemble, but I do warn to watch out when assembling the wooden chair. I got 3 splitters! Again, the set is heavy and solid, it doesn't feel or look cheap. I love how the extension hides in the middle of the table and unfolds. We bought the umbrella and a medal stand but I want to warn you. When you unfold the extension to extend the table, the umbrella hole will then exist.
Now, we bought the Ewins Cast Iron Hexagonal Umbrella Stand-Antique Iron (http://www.amazon.com/Ewins-Cast-Hexagonal-Umbrella-Stand/dp/B000F1MQRO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1230576560&sr=1-2). If you place the umbrella through the hole, you can NOT also have the metal stand underneath the table! Why? The metal stand has a tube that's attaches from the base and point upwards. This tube holds the umbrella in place. Well, that tube form the metal stand will not fit in the space of the table, down below. Look at this image (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B000RJY6F4/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=284507&s=kitchen) and you will see the lower support has a small square hole. That small hole you can't get the Umbrella Stand's tube to fit through that, UNLESS you modify it and saw a little.
Well, Ewins has great phone support, they were nice and product quality support was excellent. Our first table had a chip knocked off where the peg would go to support the extension piece. We showed them a photo and also filed a claim and they responded by sending a total new table for free. We didn't have to send them the 1st broken one! I recommend Ewins to all!

Summary: Needs some Thompsons water seal
Comment: I purchased a similar set of the Ewins redwood furniture. The only con is the color does fade quite quickly. I would invest in a $20 gallon of Thompsons water seal with a redwood tint spend a couple hours brushing it on and you will be pleased with this furniture for years and years.

Summary: Stylish, but fades quickly
Comment: I got this patio set because it had the ability to seat up to 8 people. I liked its classic lines and that it was made of wood and didn't look like gimmicky patio furniture from your large, chain retailers.
It assembled fairly easily (at least as I observed hubby assembling...he didn't mutter and grown too much). Spacious...we keep the extendor leaf in, even with only six chairs. Solid...we live in an area that can get very windy and blow things away pretty easily, and after several windy storms these chairs/table haven't budged.
Cons: with the first rain the color dripped to the concrete patio and our patio now has a wood colored stain on it. We've had it set up for about a month now and have had a few good rains...the furniture is pretty washed out looking already. Fortunately this weathered look doesn't bother me, but I wish the color were better sealed.
One last Con: we purchased a separate umbrella and the hole at the bottom to put the umbrella pole in its base was too small. Hubby had to spend some time shaving away some wood in the hole to make it big enough for the umbrella.
For the money, I'm very pleased.
